Profiles are a fundamental part of the FamConnections platform. The Profile determines the family member’s posture on the Platform.

Profile Type	Profile Definition
Claimable At Large	Profile created via the GEDCOM Import process or the Create Profile function in FamConnections. Member is living or deceased. Member age is unknown. Member is a child, infant, teen, adult, or senior. Profile record has no email address.
Claimable by Email	Profile created via the GEDCOM Import process or the Create Profile function in FamConnections. Member is living. Member’s age is known, and the member is an adult or senior over the age of 18. (Users must be over 18 to join the platform as a user) Profile contains an email address
Claimed	Profile created via the GEDCOM Import process or the Create Profile function in FamConnections. Member is living. Member’s age is known, and the member is an adult or senior over the age of 18. (Users must be over 18 to join the platform as a user) Profile contains an email address that was matched to a Profile with a Claimable by Email status. Member is an active system user.
